Screenshotify
For indie developers

For solo devs who ship their own apps.

TL;DR. Free editor, pay once to export when you publish (Single €9.99 or Pro €29.99). No subscription, no agency markup, no team-tier upsell, no signup wall. You design while procrastinating App Store submission, you pay when you finally hit the upload button.

Most App Store screenshot tools target agencies first and indies second. The pricing tells you: $25–50 per month, "Team" tiers, "enterprise" implied. Indies use them anyway because the alternatives are worse. We started building Screenshotify because the indie price point should be different — you ship once or twice a year, you don't need an annual seat.

What indies actually need

  • Working free tier. Not a 7-day trial. Not a watermarked "trial". The actual editor, free, forever.
  • Single-shot pricing. Pay when you publish, not on a calendar.
  • Real device frames. Body proportions derived from real mm — not the cartoonish illustrations you get in design-tool libraries.
  • Localization that's not a manual chore. One click translates every caption into every App Store language.
  • Phone-to-desktop pairing. Your screenshots are on your phone. Get them into the editor in two taps via QR + WebRTC.
  • JSON save/load. Version your designs alongside your code if you want to. No vendor lock-in.

A realistic workflow

Build your app. The day you're ready to submit, open Screenshotify. Drop your phone screenshots into the editor (or pair the phone). Pick 3–5 panels for the App Store carousel, add one caption per panel, pick a template if you want a head start. Translate to whatever locales you ship in (we support all 39). Click export — one ZIP with every required size and every locale.

For a typical indie iPhone app: about 20 minutes from "blank canvas" to "ZIP downloaded". Export is a one-time purchase per design — nothing to cancel, nothing renewing in the background. The next update needs new screenshots? You buy a new export then, and not a day sooner.

Why not Fastlane

If you want screenshots straight from your running app via UI tests, Fastlane snapshot is a great free option. The trade-off: you're writing Swift, maintaining a Snapfile, and the output is raw simulator screenshots without marketing overlays. Screenshotify is for the moment you want designed marketing screenshots, not raw simulator captures.
